We have narrowed our selection of chairs down to 2;
This one is smaller, cheaper, more stylized, but less back support;
but this one is bigger, more square, more expensive and better back support;
Both swivel and are height adjustable.
We know which one Greg likes!

Ready for cabinet installation - fitting problem?
We're ready for the cabinet installation on Tuesday and my only concern is that one piece is too big to fit through the door and so, for the time being, it is stored in the garage.
It is the lower corner piece and it's smallest span is 38" while the front or side door is 32" wide. The sliding patio door at the back is only 28". I tried to see if I could take off the patio door (without breaking anything) but I could only get one door off.
Monarch's solution would be to cut off the kick boards and re-attach them once inside but I would like to avoid that if possible. I wonder why they never took the maximum door width into consideration while manufacturing it? Anyway, I'll talk to Marion when see arrives.

There goes the floor
It's so long to the hardwood floor. I always wondered by people would put hardwood in a kitchen which is so prone to liquid spills that it would wreck it quickly. But it does look nice.
The ceramic tile in the hallway was also removed as the new kitchen floor will extend to the wall and around the corner to the top of the basement stairs. This will give the illusion that the kitchen is much wider. I'm not sure what the dark coating on the floor is but I imagine it's to level the floor under the tile.
